Your Home Away From Home

A modern refuge nestled in the natural wonderland of Elk Country, Pennsylvania, Sleeping Elk Lodge attracts visitors who want to get away from it all, yet enjoy the comforts of home.

In addition to the elk, other wildlife abounds.  Nearby state parks and the Allegheny National Forest offer mountain vistas, trout fishing in fresh water streams, boating, and swimming, along with miles of hiking, biking and horseback riding trails.  There are a number of golf courses in the area.

Stores, antique and craft shops, restaurants can be found in nearby St. Marys, Dubois, and Ridgeway.  Some guests enjoy taking a day to tour the Amish country around Smicksburg and Punxsutawney.  Of course, Sleeping Elk guests don't have to leave the lodge to enjoy watching forest animals.  People have seen bears, coyotes,  foxes and lots of deer.  "We've counted up to 35 elk in our yard."
